I Survived the Great Chicago Fire, 1871

"Could an entire city really burn to the ground?

Oscar Starling never wanted to come to Chicago. But then Oscar finds himself not just in the heart of the big city, but in the middle of a terrible fire! No one knows exactly how it began, but one thing is clear: Chicago is like a giant powder keg about to explode.

An army of firemen is trying to help, but this fire is a ferocious beast that wants to devour everything in its path, including Oscar! Will Oscar survive one of the most famous and devastating fires in history?" - From www.amazon.com

When I grow up...

The problem I want to solve is...

“Don’t ask kids what they want to be when they grow up but what problems they want to solve. This changes the conversation from who do I want to work for, to what do I need to learn to be able to that.” – Jaime Casap, Google Global Education Evangelist

Global Virtual Classroom

The best journey takes you home...

Our 4th graders created a website with schools from Voznesenskoye, Russia and Kingwood, Texas about homes around the world. As you check out the website, you will see that the kids researched homes around the world, wrote about their favorite part of their own home, reflected on what they think homes of the future may entail, and they included information about how we helped the homeless this year.
