Reading assignments - Each week, the students will ready a chunk of the book (see below for the specific chapters that should be read each week). For each reading assignment, the kids will also have a page to complete in their I Survived the Great Chicago Fire booklet. On this page in their booklet each week, they will summarize what they read from the main character's point of view, identify one example of figurative language from the reading (the book has a lot), and find one new or interesting word.
